Kitchari is a staple in Ayurveda’s holistic approach to using food as medicine. This comforting one-pot dish is the perfect meal for any time of the day, and especially supportive for post-partum women, or anyone needing an immunity boost.
Made with mung dal, quinoa & our signature Kitchari Spice, this nourishing and cleansing meal is easy to digest and makes the perfect base for meals. Try options like:
coconut oil or ghee
squeeze of lemon or lime
fresh herbs or microgreens
seasonal greens (fresh or steamed)
fermented foods (like sauerkraut, for Pitta dosha avoid kimchi)
This one-pot grain and bean dish has never been easier to make! Simply boil water, add contents of pouch & let simmer.
MADE WITH ORGANIC INGREDIENTS:
split mung dal, quinoa, Himalayan pink salt, cumin, turmeric, clove, coriander, ginger, black pepper, ceylon cinnamon
Bring 2.5 cups (or 1 cup for single serving pouch) of water to a boil.
Pour in bag contents & bring back to a boil.
Cover & reduce heat to low.
Simmer for 20 min or until water is absorbed.
Keep covered and turn off heat.
Let sit for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
Stir in 1-2 Tbsp of coconut oil or ghee.
Garnish with fresh herbs & lemon juice. (optional)
Reheat on stovetop with 1 Tbsp of water.
